5 Cocktails to Impress, Crafted with Q-Slush

Some evenings ask for a proper drink, not just something poured over ice and left at that. A dinner that runs longer than planned. Friends who came round “for one” three hours ago. A special occasion like a birthday or a reunion. The kind of evening where a normal cocktail feels a little flat, and a frozen one feels exactly right. These frozen cocktail recipes are built around Q-Slush's own Cocktail preset, so making them at home is as simple as it gets, no blender, no crushed ice, no guesswork.

Tips Before You Pour

  1. Watch the sugar. Too little, and the machine will stop itself rather than risk solid ice.
  2. Watch the alcohol. Too much, and it won't freeze at all.
  3. Too thin after the beep? Stir in a splash more syrup and run it again briefly.
  4. Chill your base ingredients. Your slush will be ready faster for your guests (or just yourself).
  5. Always add water. For high-spirit recipes, it’ll help you achieve the perfect texture.

Frozen Margarita

There's a reason this one never goes out of fashion. Tequila, lime and a clean hit of orange liqueur, frozen into something with real body rather than a thin, watery cocktail.

Serves 4

  • 240ml tequila
  • 120ml triple sec
  • 240ml lime juice
  • 120ml simple syrup
  • 240ml cold water

Combine everything in a large jug and stir well. Pour into the tank between the MIN and MAX lines and select the Cocktail preset.

Once the machine beeps, pour and serve straight away.

Pornstar Martin-ice

Vanilla and passion fruit, given a proper chill. This is the drink that gets photographed before it gets drunk. Talk about a party no one forgets about!

Serves 4

  • 30ml vanilla syrup
  • 85ml passion fruit syrup
  • 70ml lime juice
  • 125ml prosecco
  • 200ml vodka
  • 400ml water
  • 20g granulated sugar

Combine everything in a large jug and stir until the sugar has fully dissolved. Pour into the tank, select the Cocktail preset, and let the machine take it from there.

Serve with a passion fruit slice balanced on the rim, since this is one occasion where a little showing off is entirely earned.

Snowy Pimm's

There’s no summer without Pimm’s. Cucumber and mint keep it feeling properly English, whatever the weather's doing outside.

Serves 4

  • 200ml Pimm's
  • 800ml lemonade
  • 250g frozen strawberries
  • ½ cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • Sprigs of fresh mint

Stir the Pimm's and lemonade together, then pour into the tank and select the Cocktail preset. While it runs, slice the cucumber and drop a handful of frozen strawberries into each glass, along with a few cucumber slices.

Once the machine beeps, pour over the fruit and finish with a sprig of mint.

Artic Mojito

Mint, lime and rum, built the long way round with a proper syrup rather than a shortcut. Well worth the extra ten minutes at the start. Even the best artificial syrups can’t beat that homemade taste.

Serves 4

For the mint syrup:

  • 250ml water
  • 25g fresh mint leaves
  • 100g sugar

For the cocktail mix:

  • 200ml lime juice
  • 40ml rum
  • 750ml water

Combine the water, sugar and mint leaves in a pan and bring to the boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for a further minute, then remove from the heat and let it steep for 30 minutes. Strain out the mint and leave the syrup to cool fully.

Combine the syrup with the lime juice, rum and water, then pour into the tank and select the Cocktail preset. Serve with a fresh sprig of mint.

Espresso Chilltini

Coffee, vodka and just enough vanilla to round off the bitterness. A proper nightcap that still knows how to wake you up a little, especially if the show must go on.

Serves 4

  • 400ml cold brew coffee, chilled
  • 150ml vodka
  • 150ml coffee liqueur
  • 100ml simple syrup
  • 160ml cold water
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • A small pinch of salt

Combine everything in a large jug and stir thoroughly until fully mixed. Pour into the tank between the MIN and MAX lines and select the Cocktail preset.

Once it beeps, pour into chilled glasses and finish with a few coffee beans on top, or a light dusting of cocoa if the evening calls for a bit more theatre.

For The Nights That Shouldn’t End

There's a difference between a drink that fills a glass and one that changes the vibe of the evening. These five do the latter. Someone pours the first round, and suddenly the conversation slows down, phones go back in pockets, nobody's checking the time. That's not an accident. Each recipe here is built to be looked at before it's tasted, to sit in the middle of the table and do a bit of the hosting for you.

The best part is what happens after. Once the glasses are empty and everyone's decided they're not leaving just yet, the Q-Slush is already most of the way to the next batch. No scrambling for a blender, no apologising for the wait. Just enough time to top up the snacks before the beep goes again. Here’s to fine company and even finer times.
